Aveda Institute Denver offers programs in cosmetology and spa therapy to prepare students for the state board examination while earning real-life salon/spa experience. Through hands-on practical training and theoretical experience, our students (future professionals) learn the latest industry information from our certified educators in combination with Aveda and Milady’s curriculum. Study abroad internships, workshops, lectures from industry masters and industry events create an extension of educational experience beyond the clinic floor and classroom to provide our future professionals with the education needed to begin working immediately after graduation. Cosmetology – Express your creativity and talent in hair, skin, nail care and makeup. Our cosmetology program course provides 60 credits of extensive hands-on learning to provide you a complete understanding of beauty and wellness. Explore hair cutting, styling and coloring; chemical hair relaxing/restructuring, permanents, shampooing and conditioning; skin care, makeup application, facial waxing, and nail techniques. Upon completion, you’ll be ready to succeed as a licensed cosmetologist, esthetician and nail technician.

Spa Therapy – Gain a leading edge in the industry by being dual-licensed/certified in esthiology and massage therapy. Our dual spa program combines the theory and practical experience in anatomy, physiology, massage techniques, skin esthetics, makeup application, body and facial waxing, and body treatments. At completion you’ll earn 20 credits in esthiology and 600 massage therapy hours.

Program Schedule – Cosmetology and Spa Therapy are both offered three days a week (10 hour days) either Monday-Wednesday-Friday or Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday. Cosmetology is 14 months and the Spa Therapy Program is 8 months. Esthiology and Massage Therapy programs are offered seasonally and program schedules vary.

Location – Aveda Institute Denver is located in the Historic Denver Dry Goods Building, in the heart of downtown Denver on the 16th Street Mall. Our 17,000 square feet location offers real-life salon and spa experience with seven hands-on classrooms, two clinic floors, over 100 cosmetology clinic floor stations, 12 shampoo stations and 14 spa treatment rooms. We also have a new, exclusive men’s-only salon.
